qui est toujours précédé ou censé précédé de l'une des négatives Ne ou Non. Point, nullement. Je ne le veux pas. N'y allez pas. Je n'entends pas cela. Il m'est indifférent d'écrire ou de ne pas écrire, d'écrire ou de n'écrire pas. Il est trop fier, pour ne pas dire impertinent. Nous ne le verrons pas, que l'hiver ne soit venu. Je n'en parlerai pas, que vous ne m'en ayez donné la permission. Il n'ira pas, à moins qu'on ne l'y force. Depuis trente ans je ne l'ai pas vu. Il ne mange pas depuis un mois. Il y a un mois qu'il ne mange pas. Il ne me l'a pas dit. Il n'est pas venu. Vous n'êtes pas sage. Il faut se conduire par la raison, et non pas par fantaisie. Il se déclara contre lui ; non pas qu'il fût son ennemi, mais ... Dans ces deux derniers exemples on peut supprimer Pas. Avez-vous de l'argent ? Pas trop, pas beaucoup : on dit quelquefois, Point trop ; on ne dit jamais, Point beaucoup. Voyez la différence de Pas et de Point au motNE.

PAS, joint avec le mot Un, une, signifie, Nul, nulle, aucun, aucune. Pas un ne le dit. Pas un ne le croit. Il n'y a pas un homme qui ose dire cela.
